Iran has made America’s Gulf slave colonies cower in fear of Iranian power.

<=Two facets of Iranian power are particularly strong:1. Iranian willingness to enforce its red lines at any and all costs.  What the Shia say, they mean?2. the strong Chinese support, backing, and endorsement for sovereign rights, where ever in the world sovereignty is being challenged.

In this case, the backing and support went to Iran.  But China has recently passed a law [published here by Karlov1] which law I think has the potential to curb future kinetic warfare just about everywhere..

Basically it says if you mess with a Chinese interest in violation of international law anywhere in the world, Domestic Chinese law will confiscate and nationalize your assets located anywhere within the reach of domestic Chinese law.    This “you act wrongfully, we take your stuff” law has the potential to force negotiations over kinetics and if China were to extend this law to include prosecution for and punishment of war crimes in violation of international law.. it would add icing to the case for peace.  and it would make China more potent than the UN.

At that point, I would expect a challenged UN will then try to mend its ways.  Very interesting how this is playing out.
