Victor Davis Hanson succinctly explains the importance of the 2020 election beginning at 56:06:
“This isn’t about Trump’s personality, this is not about George Bush versus Al Gore; it’s not even Barack Obama versus John McCain.
This is about a radical hijacking of the Democratic Party and this is telling people that we are going to take the First Amendment as you know it and it’s not going to apply on campuses. We’re going to take the Second Amendment as the founders envisioned – it’s not going to apply anymore. The Supreme Court is not going to look the same. That statue in your park is going to be gone. That 1776 date in your mind is going to be Orwellian erased; it’s going to be 1619.
We are going to change the statues, we are going to change what movie you think you want to watch – Turner Classic Movies and see Gone With The Wind – it’s not going to be when we get in.
This is an effort to systematically in a Trotskyite fashion erase our collective memory and our values and replace it with a totalitarian radical French Revolutionary Jacobin model. I’ve never seen anything like it and I’ve lived through the 60s.”
