Berlin will send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and Washington will provide Abrams tanks, German and US media reported.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has agreed to supply Ukraine with Leopard 2 battle tanks, according to media reports, after weeks of mounting pressure on Berlin to give Kyiv the heavier weapons it says Ukraine needs to drive back invading Russian forces.

The news that Berlin will provide battle tanks to Kyiv comes as officials in the United States told media that Washington was also poised to start a process that would eventually send dozens of M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine’s front lines.

  1. Given my study of past military history, it would seem that the Russians will sit back and passively observe as NATO sends more and more of its finest weapons to Ukraine and then bypass Ukraine to invade Western Europe directly in a Blitzkrieg. When that happens, we’ll see how figures like Lloyd Austin will go down in the history books, assuming there are history books after a nuclear war.
