British Prime Minster Boris Johnson has recently blithely announced that millions of Hong Kongers will be given the right to come to Britain on visas which grant them the right to stay for five years working, studying or whatever. At the end of five years these people will be able to apply for British citizenship.
This astonishing promise has met with precious little condemnation in the British mainstream media and from British politicians, a fact which tells you how strong a grip political correctness has on the British elite.
Johnson estimates the number of Hong Kongers who would qualify at three million. That figure will probably not be the final total because
1. Those who qualify will be allowed at some point to bring in dependants.
2. if China treats Hong Kongers really badly any conceivable UK government will probably allow Hong Kongers to come to the UK who are not qualified to receive for the Johnsonian visa.
Mass immigration is conquest by non-military means
Mass immigration should be judged by its effects. Look around at virtually any major Western city and you will find areas which have been effectively colonised by immigrants. There is no inevitably about it as the politically correct like to insist by claiming that “we live in a globalised world”. This surreptitious colonisation is ultimately entirely the responsibility of the politicians who permit it
As the numbers of immigrants and their descendants increase the native population becomes more and more dissatisfied and politicians turn ever more to propagandising about the joys of diversity while passing laws which criminalise dissent and place the immigrant descended groups in a de facto privileged position.
As the animosity between law enforcement and protesters grows, city and state officials have seemingly taken the side of the protesters, condemning the presence of federal agents charged with protecting Portland’s federal courthouse.
Mayor Ted Wheeler banned federal officers from sharing headquarters with city police after personnel from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other agencies were accused of seizing and detaining protesters without probable cause.
Even a year ago, a video with information like this would have been classed as “science fiction.”
Pompeo continued, “But crucially, crucially the nation’s founding principles gave us a standard by which we could see the gravity of our failings and a political framework that gave us the tools to ultimately abolish slavery and enshrine into law equality without regard to race. You don’t always hear these ground truths today. Nor do you hear about the greatest strides our nation has made to realize the promise of our founding and a more perfect union. From Seneca Falls, to Brown v. Board of Education, to the peaceful marches led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Americans have always laid claims to their promised inheritance of unalienable rights. And yet today, the very core of what it means to be an American, indeed, the American way of life itself, is under attack. Instead of seeking to improve America, too many leading voices promulgate hatred of our founding principles.”
Absurdo/Absurd! Was the RPG authentic in 2015 that shot down a military helicopter? #Mencho’s weapons are much more powerful now, he has a war weapon cache. While gob “analyzes”, homicides are record-breaking.#CJNG #Jalisco https://t.co/aCpgMPjuv7
Mexican cartel shows its might as president visits its heartland
MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – A video depicting a sprawling military-style convoy of one of Mexico’s most powerful drug cartels circulated on social networks on Friday just as President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador visited the group’s heartland.
“Only Mencho’s people,” members of the cartel shout, pumping their fists and flashing their long guns. The cry was a salute to their leader, Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera, one of the country’s most-wanted drug lords.
The video’s release coincided with Lopez Obrador’s visit to the states of Guanajuato, Jalisco and Colima, some of the cartel’s strongholds.
“They are sending a clear message… that they basically rule Mexico, not Lopez Obrador,” said Mike Vigil, a former chief of international operations for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

A recent open letter signed by prominent pundits and intellectuals warns of a growing problem with cancel culture. The Grayzone’s Max Blumenthal discusses how many of its prominent signatories have spent their careers trying to silence dissenting voices on critical issues such as Israel-Palestine and Syria. They are also part of a growing establishment “hyper-liberal” cancel culture that sidelines vital issues including class struggle; promotes reactionary projects like Russiagate by co-opting righteous causes; and supports the cancelation of foreign countries via aggressive U.S. foreign policy.
“It’s been obvious from the start that the letter was signed by frauds eager to protect their own status, not the principles,” Greenwald tweeted on Saturday. Many of the signatories have “been at the forefront of ‘canceling,’” he continued, “but are only petulantly objecting because they now hear criticisms.”
1/ Regarding the apparent fact that the Letter’s organizer wanted to have me sign but the luminaries actually in control cancelled me (I was never asked), it’s been obvious from the start that the Letter was signed by frauds, eager to protect their own status, not the principles. https://t.co/HfeMi8Gtzd
— Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) July 18, 2020
Greenwald is not the first commentator to scoff at the letter. Author and podcaster Dave Rubin called it a “silly, self-important letter by liberals who will sit and watch the world burn rather than turn to their conservative counterparts for help on how to fix it.” Journalist Michael Tracey called it “incredibly lame and intended primarily to flatter the egos of the signatories.”
As for the views that got Greenwald sidelined, that much is unknown. Greenwald was a persistent critic of both the Bush and Obama administrations, and, while he’s been critical of Trump, he’s ridiculed those pushing the ‘Russiagate’ investigation against him. Unlike many on the list, Greenwald has also defended Julian Assange and condemned Israel’s foreign policy and influence on US politics.
It’s the zip code with the most COVID-19 cases in the state of Arizona. It’s not in the population center of Phoenix, but in Yuma, right at the Mexican border. It is also the home of Yuma Regional Medical Center, which has likely received cases from across the border. As the New York Times reported in June, “Border towns in Arizona are experiencing an increase in infections that health officials believe is tied to people coming in from Sonora state.”
As of July 13, there were 3,131 cases in that Yuma zip code, more cases than in the states of Alaska and Vermont combined. Every other Yuma zip code is also full of cases. 85336, which is right at the southern border, has 310 cases, even though the entire population of the zip code is 714.
In recent weeks, I’ve chronicled how Mexicans coming over the border for treatment and dual citizens traveling back and forth have caused a reimportation of the most serious cases from Mexico over the southwest border. You can read the series here, here, here, and here. The latest data show an unmistakable correlation between border areas and the rise of this latest wave of serious cases, while most of the rest of the country is experiencing a milder second wave.
Hollywood, despite its reputation as a liberal bastion, has long been a hothouse of vicious reactionary sentiments.
For example, the anti-communist mania of the late 1940s and ‘50s was a particularly shameful time in Hollywood’s history. It was during this Red Scare that Hollywood studios created a blacklist where any person thought to be a communist or associated with communists, regardless of their ability, was barred from working in the industry.
Joseph McCarthy and the House Un-American Activities Committee used the threat of the Hollywood blacklist to force many artists to become informers on their colleagues in order to maintain their livelihoods.
Not surprisingly, as the Black Lives Matter panic now rages, Hollywood is once again succumbing to the hideous siren’s call of dehumanization and discrimination. Except this time the accusation isn’t about communism, but rather, “Are you now, or have you ever been, a white man?”
The skirmish occurred on July 1 in the Bronx, when a pair of officers were trying to arrest a suspect who resisted being put into their police car, while the crowd was bullying and taunting the officers. When one of the officers charged to detain another man, the suspect put him in a headlock or chokehold – a controversial tactic for which police are often criticized, and which is about to be banned in New York City.
